ASSURANCE
PROGRAM
The Lladro Assurance
Program is designed to give you peace of mind
by helping to protect your valuable Lladro
porcelains. This program is
available exclusively through Lladro Authorized
Dealers in the United
States and provides you with important benefits at no additional cost.
The Lladro Assurance program protects every
Lladro figurine purchased
from the time it leaves the dealer's door.
To protect your
figurine under the Lladro Assurance Program, simply
complete and mail the Assurance Certificate affixed to the outside of
the box. Be sure to keep your copy for your files. Should your figurine
become damaged for any reason, bring it with your copy of the Lladro
Assurance Certificate to your dealer so the dealer may inspect
your
figurine.
You have three options of coverage under
the Lladro Assurance
program.
1. If the damaged figurine can be repaired
with a replacement part,
you may order it at no cost to you by showing your Assurance
Certificate to any United States Lladro Authorized Dealer. (A nominal
charge may be applied for selected parts.) Please do not surrender
your certificate if you choose to order replacement parts.
If professional assistance is needed to affix the part, your dealer will
provide a list of professional restorationists. Restoration fees remain
the responsibility of the figurine owner.
2. If the damage requires the repair of a
non-replacement part, you
may choose to contact a restorationist. Be
sure to request a cost
estimate before any repairs. Restoration fees are your responsibility.
3. If your figurine cannot be satisfactorily
repaired, you may choose
to replace it through your Authorized Lladro Dealer at 1/3 (one third)
off the suggested retail price in effect at the time of replacement,
provided the figurine is currently available.
Your damaged figurine and your Assurance
Certificate must be
surrendered to an Authorized Lladro Dealer in person for the dealer
to replace your piece. The dealer will then place an order for a
replacement figurine and notify you when it comes in.
Every Lladro figurine is meant to be enjoyed
for generations.
With the initiation of the Lladro Assurance Program, Lladro can
help ensure that your figurines will remain as beautiful as the
day you acquired them.

DISPLAY
OF FIGURINES
Proper lighting can enhance the beauty of
your Lladro figurines.
Directing the light to fall at a steep angle will optimize the interplay
of light and shadows. Experiment with different lighting, soft or
dramatic, for varied effects.
The beauty and charm of Lladro figurines
can be further enhanced
by grouping them together. Try grouping figurines of similar size and
theme. Figurine groups of the same theme often tell a meaningful story.
Move your pieces around. Don't be timid.
Explore new places which
may provide provocative new angles to delight the viewer's eye.
Dramatic locations include mantles, bookshelves and as centerpieces
for a table.
To vary your presentation, keep props like
pedestals in different sizes.
You can also upholster your pedestals with fabric. Change color or
texture for a 'fresh new look.' Plexiglass pedestals are the most
inconspicuous. Black lacquer is another elegant look.

CARE
OF FIGURINES
When cleaning
your figurines, it is especially important to remember
to treat your figurine gently. The most effective way to clean your
Lladro porcelains is regular dusting. Feather
dusters or soft bristled
paint brushes are perfect because these tools will not damage the
surface of the figurine. Individual feathers or very small paint brushes
can be used to reach into tight corners or around flowers.
You may also use "canned
air," which can be purchased at any
photography store, to literally "blow" the dust off of your figurines.
Please be careful however, when cleaning delicate areas such as
flowers and parasols. The air sometimes exits the can with enough
force to damage their delicate beauty.
If dusting is not an option, you can bathe
your figurines. When
bathing your figurine, hold it firmly but gently. Support the body
of the figurine and bathe it as you would a small child. Do
not hold
it by the head, arms or legs alone.
Use lukewarm water
to clean your figurine. Gently rub the area with
your hands, a Soft cloth, or a soft paint brush. If needed, a mild dish
soap can be used to clean stubborn areas. But be sure to thoroughly
rinse any soap from the figurine or it may attract dust after it has dried.
Proper care of your Lladro figurines will
provide you with years of
beauty and enjoyment.

Lladró
Collectors Society, A Tradition to Treasure
The
Society was formed in 1985 to offer increased
enjoyment of Lladro fine porcelains by providing valuable insights
into the creation of figurines and
to give Society members the means to share their enthusiasm for these
exceptional works...
The Lladro Society provides direct contact between those
who appreciate fine porcelain artistry and the Lladro studios in Valencia,
Spain. The Society publishes an award-winning quarterly magazine,
Expressions, which is filled with feature articles
and color photography of Lladro figurines and
two newsletters. |
 |
The Society is very active, and members
are encouraged to
participate in its many special events. These events include
yearly trips to Spain with a guided tour of Lladro's
world-renowned Porcelain City.
The Society also commissions exclusive
figurines which are never
offered to the general public, including an annual Members-Only
figurine. In addition, new members of the Society receive many
important benefits and valuable gifts: The Society
membership
card, enrolled as an Associate Member of the Lladro Museum in
New York City, a beautiful fine porcelain bell, which is part of a
limited series, and a bas-relief member porcelain
plaque, as well
as an elegant binder to save your issues of EXPRESSIONS magazine...
Whether this is your first Lladro figurine,
or you have many,
the Society can provide you with an increased appreciation
and enjoyment of your Lladro figurine. For complete information
on joining the Society,
call 1-800-726-1803.
I would like to personally invite
all who have a passion for Lladro
porcelain to become part of the Lladro Collectors Society.
- Jim Darwiche.
